About Us

The Early Years

My story starts when I was five years old. I found a block of wood and a small disc of wood, nailed it together and created a ‘camera’, my first project.

My father had a basement work shop so I was introduced to power tools at the age of ten. Building and repairing things became natural through the years.

By high school it was time to think about my future and career. My first selection was to be a Forrester. I took agriculture classes, wood shop, drafting and math. In my senior year I found the ‘Wood Techniques’ course at Western Wisconsin Technical Collage in La Crosse, Wisconsin. After graduating, one of my instructors approached me and asked if I would work with his son in their basement woodshop. That was the start of my career.

Through the years I worked for custom cabinet shops, commercial fixture shops, cabinet distribution centers. My longest tenure was with a custom cabinet shop (10 years). This was were most of my ‘cabinet skills’ were developed.

Some of the skills that were developed include, CAD design, layouts, service, manufacturing, programming and operating a computerized panel saw and CNC (A material machining center).

In 2002 it was time to open a shop of my own. Wood Products Plus was started in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. During that time I worked with contractors, home owners and designers. One  customer that I worked with on a regular bases was the owner of the cabinet shop that I worked for.

After being side tracked and finally settling in North Central Florida it was time to open Wood Products Plus again. So after twenty-seven years in the industry, here we are in North Central Florida.
